National Student Employment Week

Each year colleges and universities across the country celebrate National Student Employment Week to value the outstanding performance, effort and commitment of their student employees.

The Student Employment Office plans activities to give students and their supervisors a chance celebrate during the second full week of April and encourages individual departments to recognize their student employees in their own special ways.

This week is also used to recognize and commemorate student employees who have gone above and beyond in their assignments via the Student Employee of the Year competition.

Supervisors are asked to submit nominations for students in acknowledgement of their professional, personal and other accomplishments. Nominations are collected on a rolling basis leading all the way up through mid-March. The student employee selected as the Student Employee of the Year will advance on to the regional competition and be honored at the annual Student Leadership Awards celebration.
