Find a Job

Our office is committed to providing students the chance to identify employment opportunities that will best suit their needs.

As such, we do not assign students to positions, allowing them the freedom to search and apply for opportunities via our online job portal Handshake. More than 200 hiring departments on campus and even more external campus partners add jobs to this portal on a rolling basis.

Apply for Jobs using Handshake

All jobs, including student employment positions, are posted within Handshake. You will log into Handshake using your NetID and Password. From there, you can search all available jobs. Using the on campus student employment filter will narrow your search to show open and available positions on campus.

If you have any issues applying, please reach out to a member of the Student Employment Team for assistance.

Federal Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study Program is a federal aid program designated as “self-help” aid. Students are able to work and earn wages from a pool of funding provided by the federal government and dispersed by the Office of Financial Aid.

Eligibility: Students must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents, and Temporary Legal Residents to be eligible for work-study. Students indicate their interest in participating in the work-study program on their FAFSA. In terms of assignments, the off campus and Comets Serve positions are the only ones exclusively reserved for work-study students.

The university does not provide advances on Federal Work-Study funds. Students must earn the funds through hours worked at their respective assignments. There is not a separate tuition credit associated with the Federal Work-Study program at UT Dallas.
